THERAPEUTIC PLACEMENT

Therapeutic Placement should be considered when more traditional help has either been rejected or exhausted. Families often report that they feel like they are "being held hostage" and they are "exhausted". 

CLINICAL WILDERNESS PROGRAMS - OUTDOOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

  • These programs are a unique alternative to traditional therapy.  The average length of stay is typically 8-10 weeks and offer rolling admission.

  • Set in the outdoors, away from the every day distraction of every day life, unique programming is designed to  enhance physical and mental health through nature's challenges. 

  • Allow for a comprehensive evaluation to understand underlying causes of behavioral concerns

  • Working with trained professionals students participate in individual and group therapy.

  • Living and working a group of similar adolescents creates a uniquely therapeutic experience.

  • Learning how to depend on oneself and managing the challenges nature has to offer builds confidence and self esteem.

 THERAPEUTIC BOARDING SCHOOLS

  • These schools run year-round, are accredited, and offer rolling admission. The average length of stay is between 12-18 months.

  • Allows students to make up credits and to get back on track academically.

  • Allow students time to practice and internalize the changes necessary to move forward to a productive life. 

  • There is generally a focus on peer interaction, and offer individual and family counseling

  • Offers students the opportunity to visit home and learn how to be interdependent within their community and family.

  • Students who have attended these schools often move onto the college application process with much success.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTERS

  • RTC's  run year-round, are accredited and offer rolling admission. The average length of stay is between 9-12 months.

  • Offering accredited educational opportunities allows student to step back into academics.

  • Very individualized treatment plans are developed with the goal of serving each students needs. 

  • Individualized, group and family therapy is traditionally more intense. More sophisticated therapies may be offered such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Equine Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and more.

YOUNG ADULT TRANSITION PROGRAMS​

  • Specifically designed for students ages 18-25, these programs are designed to help unmotivated, socially immature students to make the change to an independent adult life. 

  • Programs often begin with more structure and grow into opportunities for individuals to be more accountable.

  • Schooling options can range from attaining a GED, traditional university programs, community based colleges, or vocational training 

  • Goals include self management, budgeting,, working, volunteering, socializing in healthy ways, substance free environments and more.
