In collaboration with the treatment/scholastic team, careful, individualized recommendations may be provided for placement in:

  • Traditional Boarding Schools -

    • Traditional Boarding schools are wonderfully enriched environments that can support students with their academic curiosity, visual and performing arts, athletic talents and more. An example: International Baccalaureate programming. or  English as a Second Language programs

    • Students live in dormitories or resident houses with adults who act as dorm parents. Living away from home and learning how to manage themselves, provides students with a greater sense of confidence and independence.

    • Students generally follow a highly structured schedule where classes, meals, athletics, study time, social activities and free time are predetermined.

    • Students generally take pre admission testing as part of an application process as well as visit the school for interviews.

    • Boarding Schools offer a diverse community. They often follow codes of conduct and provide students with values education.

    • Families often find their relationships strengthen due to the fact that schools become the primary disciplinarians.

    • Students can benefit from a PostGraduate year of study.

  • Non-Traditional Boarding Schools

    • Non- Traditional Schools offer much of what traditional schools have to offer however, they offer some type of extra component around specific needs.

    • Examples of these needs include:

      • Students who learn differently. Common struggles include Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Executive Functioning, Attention Deficit Disorders. Schools may offer special learning centers or the entire population of students may struggle with the sam issues.

      • Students who may have a special talent. Perhaps they are super athletes or musicians.
